Trinity boys ride well-balanced offensive attack to victory against Collegium Charter in PIAA 4A tournament

Collegiate Charter (22–3) gave Trinity (19–6) a fight, but the Shamrocks were eventually able to secure a 77–63 victory in the first round of the PIAA Class 4A Boys Basketball Championship. The Shamrocks took a seven-point lead after the third quarter, but beat the Cougar 30-23 in the fourth quarter to take a double-digit lead and seal the win. With the win, Shamrock advanced to Friday's second round tie (12-2) against West Philadelphia (20-5), where the two sides would clash for a place in the quarterfinals.

Four different shamrocks reached double digits in a balanced offensive performance. Julian Gabidon, Brian Skruczynski, Talik Wall and Owen Schlager combined for 66 points. Gabidon took the lead with 19 points. Skrkenski and Wall finished with 16 points each, while Schlager scored 15 of his own in the win.

K'Mari Smith scored a game-high 22 points to speed up the Cougars. Teammates Deus Jackson and Dinero Washington posted 14 points and 10 points, respectively.
