Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, have tied the knot in Hawaii, according to a post on the couple's Instagram account.
Mahomes and Mathews have been engaged since Mahomes asked the question in September 2020. They have a daughter, Sterling, who was born on February 20, 2021.
According to Sports Illustrated, the couple started dating when they were in high school in Whitehouse, Texas. After graduating, Mahomes went to Texas Tech University to play football and baseball, while Matthews went to the University of Texas at Tyler to play football.
The Chiefs selected Mahomes in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and the couple moved to Kansas City, where Matthews began his fitness and merchandising business.
Last year, the Chiefs signed Mahomes to a 10-year contract extension, which his agent says is the most lucrative contract in sporting history. Mahomes has led the Chiefs to two Super Bowl appearances, including a victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.
