The filmmaker shared what started him on his fitness journey, saying he hopes to maintain his healthy lifestyle.
Determination can move mountains, and so did filmmaker Milap Zaveri. This proves the fact that he has lost over 30 kgs in less than a year. He shared his achievement with a tweet: "Under 100kg after almost four years! My Friend The Film Is not Over Yet."
Elaborating on how his fitness journey began in July last year, the director of Marjaavaan (2019) and Satyamev Jayate 2 (2021) tells us, “I weighed around 130 kg at that time and found myself lethargic. I couldn't even play tirelessly with my six-year-old son, Mehaan. It got me thinking that I needed to stay fit so that I could be there for him and my wife, Gauri... and a few weeks ago I finally beat him in a race.
Zaveri, 42, focused on a low-carb high-protein diet with a three-day cardio and three-day weight training routine. “I started a program where owner Yusuf Nalwala sent me pre-cooked meals, thrice a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I started eating those meals and ate only those portions. In the last seven months, I ate only that food except on Sundays. Initially, the first two months I didn't even take Cheat Day. But then once the results started showing, I started taking a break on Sundays because there is a day where you can eat whatever you want. My trainer Savio Fernandes also started training me and my wife thrice a week,” he says.
Moderation and discipline were key, he shares, sharing: "You can tell someone (to lose weight) a hundred times, but they won't do it until they decide for themselves. I used to go for dinner or vacation there, I made it a point to control my diet there too, and not eat fatty food, and should stick to moderate amounts. When I went to Goa for holidays in December, I spent a day Didn't miss my workout even for . It's work."
He also mentioned being encouraged by his friends, such as actors Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh and Shaad Randhawa. "I joke with him that I will lose more and launch myself (as an actor)," he concluded.
