SBI Foundation partners Khan Academy to accelerate content localisation

MUMBAI: SBI Foundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the State Bank of India (SBI), on Monday said it is partnering with Khan Academy to accelerate content localization and make high-quality educational content accessible to students in Punjab. Still working.

"This partnership strengthens efforts in content localization in accordance with the latest National Education Policy, with support from state governments and public schools, to democratize access to high-quality learning resources."

The focus of the partnership will be on successfully implementing a personalized mathematics learning program for 100,000 learners in Punjab, the statement said. SBI Foundation and SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd are providing funding support for localization of math content exclusively in Punjabi and teacher training programs for over 5,000 teachers in 3,000 schools across Punjab.

“With the support of SBI Foundation, Khan Academy and the Government of Punjab will create new math lessons in Punjabi consisting of videos, articles and practice exercises for all learners in public schools in Punjab. This content will also be available free of cost to all students on the Khan Academy platform."

SBI Foundation Managing Director Manjula Kalyanasundaram said that the Foundation is working to foster and sustain students' interest in learning Mathematics as it sees mathematics at the core of logical thinking and reasoning for children.

Kalyanasundaram said, “Innovative teaching methods can help improve learning outcomes for children and therefore, we are delighted to partner with Khan Academy India to strengthen the mathematical abilities of 100,000 learners.”

Additionally, Khan Academy will use SBI's nationwide network to reach out to every household beyond metros, especially tier-two-five towns and villages.

“Together we are going to create essential learning materials in regional languages ​​so that lakhs of students and teachers can learn in their own language and focus on what is important,” said Sandeep Bapna, Managing Director, Khan Academy India.
