Kate McKinnon is purr-fect as Carole Baskin in 'Joe vs Carole' first look

Peacock's first look at the Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin limited series can only be described with one word: claw-something.

In the series "Joe vs. Carol," due out March 3, John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon play duel big cat advocates (cat-vocets?).

According to Peacock, the play "takes a comprehensive dive into the lives of the pair", focusing primarily on Baskin. It is based on the Wonderful podcast "Joe Exotic," hosted and reported by Robert Moore.

The story proceeds the same way as Baskin "knows that fellow exotic animal lover who is breeding an 'exotic' Schreibvogel and is using his big cats for profit."

“She is ready to shut down her venture, inciting a rapidly growing rivalry,” says one logline. "But Carol has a checkered past of her own and, when the claws come out, will stop at nothing to expose what she sees as her hypocrisy. The consequences prove dire."

Ethan Frankel, whose credits include episodes of "Shameless", wrote and executive produced. McKinnon also executive produced.

"We knew that portraying larger-than-life people as complex, three-dimensional individuals would require two extraordinary actors," he said in a statement.

The series will have eight episodes.
