Sources: Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry expected at practice Wednesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Titans are expected to name Derrick Henry to return to practice from injured reserve on Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Diana Russini.

Sources said Henry jogged on the grass last week and after undergoing an extra workout on Monday, the Titans feel he is ready to return to practice. This designation opens a 21-day window for Henry to be added to the 53-member active roster.

Tennessee coach Mike Wrabel said Monday that the Titans were discussing Henry's possible return and would "probably make a decision mid-week."

Henry was placed on injured reserve on November 1 due to a leg fracture in the team's 34–31 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.

Henry's 937 rushing yards led the NFL at the time of his injury. Despite missing eight games, he is sixth among all running backs this season.

D'Onta Foreman's 497 rushing yards have paved the way for Tennessee since Henry went down. The Titans have a 5-3 record in the eight games Henry was out.

Tennessee has no definite plans regarding Henry's play in the season finale against the Houston Texans, but the team hopes to bring him back in time for the playoffs.

AFC South-champion Titans could secure a No. 1 seed in the conference with a win in Houston.
