Luis Diaz has only been at Liverpool Football Club for less than a month, but he is already set to play in the final.
That would be the Carabao Cup final, where his side would take on Chelsea at Wembley.
Since moving to Liverpool, the Colombian has settled down easily, as he has already made his mark in the Premier League. As with the final, we focus on the 25-year-old Diaz and who he is, his style, where he plays and why Liverpool signed the winger.

Who is Luis Diaz?
Luis Diaz is primarily a left winger who moved from Porto to Liverpool in the January transfer window. He has featured 33 times for Colombia netting seven times, and was also part of the U-20 international setup for the South American nation.
His professional journey began at home in Colombia at Barranquilla in 2016, before moving to a division A in Primera A to play for Atlético Junior, where he scored 15 goals in 67 games.
From there, he earned a move as a 22-year-old to Portuguese giants Porto, where he made a name for himself on the big stage in the UEFA Champions League and won a league and cup double in Portugal. In all, he scored 41 goals in his two and a half seasons at the club.
Klopp on Luis Diaz: "He's a top class player. He showed that already. We give him time to adapt, but he's an incredible player. His joy and his love for football is so obvious. In training he cannot stop smiling. I never had a player like this, it's crazy. We expect a lot." pic.twitter.com/Fc9DAjoVg0

How much did Diaz cost?
Diaz reportedly cost $50 million with $17 million in add-ons in a contract that would see him stay at the club for the next five years.
This was a somewhat shocking signing given the timing, as Liverpool had been linked with a summer move to the forward, but Tottenham were well prepared to secure the player's signing. Liverpool were forced to move fast, so it moved to a deal in January rather than risk losing to home rivals.
Diaz was also linked with West Ham in January, and the winger was reportedly scouted by a whole host of European clubs before moving to Liverpool. A move that has so far proved positive, as the winger scored his first goal against Norwich in only his third appearance for the club.
West Ham manager David Moyes reveals: "I spoke to Luis Diaz. My understanding is Liverpool were going to come in for him in the summer, and I was going to try and get him in January". 🇨🇴 #LFC

Where does Diaz play and what makes her good?
As mentioned, Diaz is a left winger, and has played there for his entire career. His pace, dribbling ability, aggression and intensity are all key qualities for the former Porto player, who fit seamlessly with Liverpool's style of play, which relies heavily on players with that makeup, especially in the attacking areas.
However, he also brings a lot of quality to the table. For example, his solo effort in the Champions League away at Manchester City was a goal that brought him mainstream fans. He was also nominated for the 2021 Puskas Award for Goal of the Year for his brilliant strike at the Copa América.
Klopp wanted Dias because it fit the style of his system; For example, he registered in the 98th percentile for a tackle in the final third - this fits in with Klopp's high-intensity pressing system. He also stood out for his ball recovery, dribble effort and ball retention.
Also, Diaz is a high-volume shooter who likes to cut from the left and aim at the net. In only three Premier League matches with the Reds, he has already fired 12 shots, with a solid mark of 0.105 xG per shot. For comparison, Lionel Messi's xG per shot at PSG this season is just a hair down at 0.113, although it is well below Mohamed Salah's outlandish mark of 0.195 xG per shot.
For Liverpool fans, he could be a long-term replacement for leftist Sadio Mane, as the Reds seem to have identified and secured another top player.
A little taster for Liverpool fans... 🌶️
