As league football returns across Europe, Kelvin Acrete takes a look at five Super Eagles players to be on the lookout for on Saturday (today).
Ademola Lukman (Leicester vs Leeds)
Super Eagles invited member, Ademola Lukman, will be in action for Leicester City when they face off against Leeds United, who are under new leadership after the departure of long-serving manager Marcelo Bielsa.
Bielsa has been replaced by American Jesse Marsh who would like to start life in England with a win.
Lukman, who has been impressive for Fox this period, is looking to score his fifth league goal of the season against Peacock. Despite the club's recent decline, the 24-year-old, who is currently on loan at King Power Stadium, has impressed the coaching crew and fans. He has scored six goals and provided four assists in 28 games in all competitions.
Samuel Chukwueze (Osasuna vs Villarreal)
Chukuwez is in line to make his 17th league appearance of the season for Villarreal when he faces Osasuna at the Al Sadr Stadium on Saturday (today) while he seeks his third league goal of the season in the match.
Chukuwez will be hoping to make an impression on Unai Emery in the game, earning himself more opening roles in the future. Since returning from a hamstring injury, the Nigeria international has been able to score five goals and provide two assists in 22 games across all competitions.
Taiwo Avonii (Wolfsburg v Union Berlin)
After ending his six-game Bundesliga goals in Union Berlin's 3-1 win over 10-man Mainz last weekend, striker Taiwo Avonii will be hoping to find his name on the score sheet and his 11th Bundesliga of the season. Hoping to grab the goal when they travel. Wolfsburg Saturday (today).
The last time the two sides met in the league, Avonii was on target. The Capital side emerged victorious 2-0 and will be hoping to repeat the feat.
The 24-year-old is the seventh top scorer in Bundesliga this season.
Joe Eribo (Rangers vs Aberdeen)
Joe Aribo has been a key player for Glasgow Rangers this season but recent results in the league have not been in Gers' favour. They have drawn two of their last three league games and are currently three points behind arch-rivals, Celtic.
Rangers will be at home against Aberdeen and Areibo, who are expected to be in the starting line-up. He will hope to score his eight goals of the season.
The 25-year-old has returned to the nets seven times and has provided five assists in 27 league games this period.
Paul Onuachu (Circle Brugge vs Genk)
He has scored 16 goals in 25 league games this season, but his hunger is to score more. Paul Onuachu missed the game against Cercle Brugge in the first half of the season but will hope to continue his good form against them when Genk locks horns against Cercle on Saturday.
Onuachu scored three goals in both halves of the season against Cercle last season and will dream of hurting him again. Although the Nigeria international is yet to get the ruthless form he was in last season, he has managed to score 18 goals in 33 games across all competitions this season.
