STILL RON TOP ‘Facts are facts’ – Ronaldo hits back at criticism of his Man Utd form and says stats prove he’s still ‘very good’

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is 'very happy' with his form despite scoring just one goal in 2022.

Manchester United hit back at criticism during a SIX game spell without a goal.

Ronaldo however insists that 'facts are facts', and on paper his 15 goals in 29 appearances for the Red Devils as his emotional transfer is a good comeback.

The 37-year-old hit out: "Facts are facts, rest is not. It doesn't matter. So I'm very happy with my form.

"I'm still scoring goals, helping people both in the national team and at Manchester United, and so I want to continue that way.

"I started playing at the top level when I was 18, and I've been at the top of the game for 15-16 years.

"It's my dedication, my passion, my ambition to work hard all the time.

"That's why I stay on top of the world in terms of performance, trophies, goals and records."

Ronaldo's 587-minute spell without a goal included a missed penalty in a championship side's defeat in the FA Cup against Middlesbrough.

He also failed to score an open goal in the 1–1 draw against Southampton.

But a specialist finish against Brighton earlier this month proved the five-time Ballon d'Or winner hadn't lost it yet.

After having a remarkable record against him with Real Madrid, Ronaldo was goalless on his return to Atletico Madrid in the midweek Champions League clash.

Although he was upended on several occasions as the Spaniards targeted him with several soulful picks.

United drew 1-1 at Manchester thanks to a strike from Anthony Elanga, and Ronaldo will be hoping he can be a hero against his old foes in the return leg at Old Trafford on March 15.
