Warney Will be Watching With Great Interest As His Horse ‘Sacred Oath’ Compete in Maiden Plate, Says Close Mate Campbell Brown

Ipswich (Australia): Horse racing enthusiasts in Australia will keep a close eye on Maiden Plate here on Wednesday as legendary spinner Shane Warne's horse 'Sacred Oath' races for the top prize in the race.

Warne, one of cricket's all-time greats, died last week on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand, where he was holidaying after suffering a suspected heart attack. His state funeral will be held later this month by the state of Victoria.

A report in sen.com.au on Tuesday said that Warne, along with teammates, "has a part in the David Vandyke-trained colt, who begins his second career on Wednesday".

"Sacred Oath is owned by several big names including close partner Campbell Brown as well as actor Shane Jacobson and prominent media talent Hamish MacLachlan," the report said.

"If Sacred Oath can rise for Warne and his teammates it would be a nice touch," Brown told sen.com.au. “Our horse was first beaten under the name 'A Call from Heaven,' so it may be a little omen this time around.
