Tim Tebow writes new book 'Mission Possible,' points to being respected and not just liked

Tim Tebow has written a new book that aims to help people lead more meaningful lives.

During an interview on the CBS Sports Network, Tebow explained that the book, "Mission Possible: Go Create a Life That Counts," might be about leaving high school and transitioning to college.

"This is such a turning point and a turning point," Tebow said. "And a point where you're trying to figure out a lot of things. For me, it was a big turning point when you started to explore on a different level, and I remember a lot of things that just weren't true. People will just make stuff up."

Tebow recalled a change when he focused not on being liked, but on being respected.

"We live in a society where there is a lot to be liked," he said. "...we put a value on you based on what you like. But if you say something that some people disagree with, they'll disappoint you, dislike you, unfollow you, that's okay. Young people are trying to do whatever they like, instead of trying to earn people's respect. What happens when you earn people's respect, and you have a disagreement, that's a disagreement, this Not a big deal. ... When did disagreement become the worst thing?"

Tebow's theory is that people's respect has waned, and some people don't know how to earn people's respect.

The focus of the book is to help readers in several areas:

  • Know your priorities
  • align your responsibilities
  • build confidence in feelings
  • Make decisive, intelligent and effective choices
  • fuel your drive and passion
  • set your sights on eternity
