Interview: Kudos on KGF 2 and more: 'There's a lot of swag and madness, but ultimately it's an emotional journey'

On March 3, the KGF 2 team announced that their theatrical trailer would release on March 27 followed by a 17-day campaign on April 14. The sequel to KGF, Yash insisted that he had shot 5 percent of part two during the shoot. KGF in 2018. "We shot the rest of the film after the release of KGF." KGF brought him recognition across the country, which continues to grow with the repeat run of the film on television. Yash replies, “Yes, it happens, but it has nothing to do with the script. The success of the first part allowed us to think big. Our vision has gone up a notch in terms of scale but the story remains the same. Earlier, we used to be a little less on the scale but now, we are all out. ,

Yash promises a cinematic experience for the audience with this Prashanth Neel directorial and hopes that the film lives up to the humble expectations. “We are hoping to provide a cinematic experience. There is a lot of swag and madness in KGF 2, but ultimately it is an emotional journey. I think, the film will be good for your eyes (visuals), ears (background score), dil (feelings) and mind (Aadhaar). It is something that will leave the audience mesmerized in every possible way. They will forget all the problems in real life and come to the world of KGF to enjoy it,” he smiles.

Getting recognized on the national stage is something very few artists can be proud of. Will this change the script selection for Yash in any way? “We definitely have to keep these things in mind. Stories have to be universal, because we have to present them to a global audience. Every film has its own challenges and it is our job to face them. Everyone in the audience is me. It's not about the language or the market anymore, it's about the number of people who Catering for Hum Hain. I want to do stories that can be watched by all age groups with ease.”

Yash told that he is yet to decide on his next film after KGF 2. “I have always followed the policy of taking one film at a time. I don't want to be distracted by it. We will announce at the right time. Now, KGF is around the corner, once it releases, we will announce it. I don't like to speak when things are half cooked. This is a common practice,” he signs off.
