Ahead of International Women's Day, Pinkvilla has come up with a new season of Woman Up. Today in our third episode is the talented actress Neelam Kothari Soni. Well, the actress needs no introduction. He ruled the hearts of Indians during the 90s and made a mark for himself with his strong acting on screen. From her beauty to fashion sense, everything has always amazed her fans. But it was his accent that grabbed the most attention at the time. Today, she opened her heart and shared thoughts on the same.
Talking to Pinkvilla, Neelam said, “So first of all I wanted to clarify a few things. I was not born with this accent, I went to a British school in Hong Kong. Then I moved from Hong Kong to Bangkok and then I went to a British school. That's why people say that from where they get this tone. This is a twang. It's a mix of American, British, I mean... So, am I selected? I mean people have chosen me. He has said that you know 'Oh, you still know the pronunciation with him after all these years.' I mean it's just an inherent thing. Now if you watch my interviews you know in the 80s and if you watch my interviews today, I think that's how I speak.
Neelam was born in Hong Kong and made her acting debut with Jawaani opposite debutant Karan Shah. She is now a jewelery designer.
Talking more about how she deals with people asking about her ascent, the actress laughs and replies, "I don't care. To be honest, I don't care because it's something I mean... you know, it's built-in."
