Aztecs Hit 21 in Reno, San Diego State Wins 21st Game Of Season With Win Against Nevada

San Diego State basketball beat the University of Nevada Saturday night in Reno, NV to conclude the regular season.

San Diego State Basketball scored 21 runs in a city famous for gambling.

The Aztecs earned their 21st win of the season with a 79 to 78 win, ending the regular season on Saturday night in Reno, Nevada, with a game against the University of Nevada.

San Diego State is 21–7 on aggregate and 13–4 in the Mountain West Conference, then will play in the conference tournament in Las Vegas.

As the third seed in the conference tournament, the Aztecs get a bye in the quarterfinals. SDSU will play the winner of San Jose State/Fresno State in the Late Game on Thursday, March 10.

San Diego State has won 9 out of 10 games and moved into a pretty safe position in a big bid to the NCAA Tournament, but a win or two in Vegas would help the Aztecs restart the tournament.

After beating Nevada, SDSU was once again led by guard Matt Bradley in the scoring with 24 points.

The Aztecs were somewhat fortunate to exit Reno with a win. After a brilliant first 32 minutes, the Aztecs led by 18 points, but then turnover, non-offensive offense and a rising Wolf Pack team took a 1 point lead with 16 seconds of play.

Nevada had two shots to take the lead in the final seconds, but both Nathan Mensah and Keshad Johsson came up with big blocks to keep the win.
