Warriors will not send ‘high-minute’ players for game in Denver, Kerr says

When COVID-19 issues within the Denver Nuggets forced the NBA to postpone its December game against the Warriors, forward Drummond Green was not happy.

In a series of tweets back in December, Greene criticized the NBA's decision to give the Nuggets "an advantage" by postponing the game after the Warriors were forced to play without Greene, which is in line with COVID-19 protocols. on December 28 in their 89-86 loss.

"It will more than likely add back to back to our schedules, which benefits Denver as well," Green said.

The Warriors may have felt that the postponement of the game - now rescheduled for Monday - turned out to be a loss.

Currently on a four-game losing streak, that postponed game forces Golden State to play three times over four days - in three different cities.

  • Saturday, March 5 in Los Angeles (L 124-116)
  • Monday, March 7 in Denver (game postponed)
  • Tuesday, March 8 in San Francisco (home against the Clippers)

Head coach Steve Kerr originally dropped Monday's game from the schedule.

"We're not sending a lot of our players to Denver," Kerr said after the Warriors' loss on Saturday night. "We're not going to put our high-minute people at risk."

In that clip, Kerr confirmed that Stephen Curry would not be traveling to the December-postponed game in Denver.

It is likely that starters Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins will join the two-time MVPs in that competition.

Golden State has fallen to the third-best record in the NBA - losing two of its last 10 games.

The Warriors are half a game behind the Memphis Grizzles and 8 1/2 games behind the Phoenix Suns.
