When making Google DOC where you need to enter letters with accents, the process is not clear. Here are some different ways to type the accent mark in letters on Google Documents.
You can write letters, create articles, or write essays. If you need a letter accented to use in languages other than English, you have different options. You can enter special characters, use keyboard shortcuts, copy with a Google Input Tool, use a tool on your computer, or view the add-on.
1. Enter special characters
Google Documents offer special character features that allow you to enter symbols, arrows, emojis, and more. This feature also provides letters with accent marks.
Go to the location in your document where you want to add accent letters. Then select Insert> Special characters from the menu.
When the window appears, enter the letters in the search box or image with the accent in the room under the search. You can also direct your cursor to the results to the left to see a larger version, which is very helpful. Select the letters you want to use, and it will appear in your document.
2. Add an accent letter with keyboard shortcuts
Whether you use a Windows or Mac computer, you can type keyboard shortcuts for your accent letters on Google Documents.
To use this combination shortcut on Mac, type the first shortcut immediately followed by the second one. For example, to type the capital of capital o with the accent, as shown above, hold the option + E at the same time, release the two, then hold Shift + O simultaneously. And let it be both.
3. Copy letters with accents from the Google Input Tool
Another easy choice for typing an accent sign in letters is to use a Google input tool. This allows you to choose the letters you want and copy it to Google Documents, but also can enter and copy words, phrases, or paragraphs.
Go to Google Input Tools available for free. Select the keyboard language from the drop-down list on the top left of the input box.
Type your text. You can use words, letters, phrases, sentences, or whatever you like.
Then, right-click on the text and select "Copy" to place it on your clipboard. Go to Google Documents, right-click where you want text, and select "Paste."
Google input tools are also available as free extensions for Google Chrome. So, if you often use the Chrome browser, you can consider installing the extension.
4. Use your computer tool to get an accent mark
Your computer can also allow you to use the default tool to type the accent sign for letters. While the option varies depending on your platform, here are some options.
In Windows, you can use character maps. Click the Start button, scroll down and expand the Windows accessory folder, and select "Character Map" to open the application.
Then move the tool window to use it on Google Documents. Find the letter you want and select "Select" to place it in the character to copy the box. Click "Copy" and then paste the letters into your document.
On Mac, hold the letter enough to display the pronunciation option. Select what you want or enter the number below the accent letter to insert it.
5. Try Google Docs Add-on
One of the final alternatives to typing accent marks in letters is the free Google Documents add-on called easy pronunciation.
After installing the add-on (make sure you feel comfortable with the required permission), open your document on Google Documents. Click "Add-ons" on the menu, navigate to "Easy Accents - Documents" and select "Easy Accents - Start".
When the sidebar opens on the right, select the language you want the letters accented in the drop-down box at the top. You will then see your option listed as a button.
Click the button to enter uppercase or hold a shift when you click to enter uppercase. To change the language, use the drop-down box at the bottom of the side bar.
Accentes are easily available for free by subscribing to the optional premium to set the default language.
