Michael Keaton misses SAG Awards 2022 win while in bathroom

Better grab it next time!

Michael Keaton missed the moment he was announced as the winner of the 2022 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series as he relieved himself in the bathroom.

Keaton, who won for his role as opioid-addicted Dr. Samuel Phoenix in the Hulu series "Dopesic," ran to the stage — and then rolled over — where Salma Hayek was waiting with her idol.

"Sorry, quick trip to the men's room, and it's packed like that," quipped Keaton, 70, before beginning in his acceptance speech. "That's great. Thank you so much."

What's hilarious is that Keaton isn't the first star to miss his moment because of the need to hit the stalls. In 1998, actress Christine Lahti won Best Actress by an Actress in a Television Series (Drama) for her performance in "Chicago Hope", but was on her way to the bathroom when her name was called.

"Everyone felt so embarrassed for me. Maybe they can relate in a way," Lahti recalled to People in 2017.

While the audience waited for Lahti to emerge, Robin Williams took to the stage to entertain the room. She finally made it through and wiped her hand with a towel before jokingly saying, "I was in the bathroom, Mom!"

"That was the first thing that happened to me, that my mom would say, 'What were you doing in the bathroom? Couldn't you go earlier?'" he thought. "It put it in a good perspective for me — a healthy perspective. Suddenly there is this great humor attached to this whole evening instead of just nerves and anxiety and 'Who will beat whom?'"
