Smith, 53, stunned Oscars 2022 spectators and spectators alike when he took to the stage on Sunday to slap presenter Chris Rock after the latter mocked his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
The "King Richard" star won the Golden Statue for Best Actor in a Leading Role shortly after the incident. However, The Post has since reported that the Academy may revoke his award following his actions.
Twitter was divided over Smith's cancellation, especially since other Oscar winners like Roman Polanski, Harvey Weinstein and many more have reportedly done other unspeakable acts — and still have their trophies.
Some are calling for the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" actor to be disciplined. “I call on the Academy, of which I am a member, to take disciplinary action against Will Smith. He insulted our entire community tonight,” tweeted writer Marshall Herskowitz.
Another chimed in and responded to Herskowitz's words: "I can assure you that your community has influenced many more people than Will Smith. Roman Polanski, Mel Gibson, Harvey Weinstein, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. See."

Another added: "Just remember that he gave Roman Polanski an Oscar in absentia, when he fled the country to escape the punishment of pedophilia."
Polanski, 88, won the Best Director Oscar in 2003 for his work in "The Pianist." However, he did not attend the ceremony as he fled the US in 1978 after being accused of rape. Harrison Ford accepted the award on Polanki's behalf and the filmmaker received a standing ovation.
One argued that audiences should not condemn Smith for his actions, dismissing the names of several other actors who allegedly crossed a line. "No, we're not going to do that to a black man when we didn't do that to Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, Harvey Weinstein, Michael Douglas, Douglas Hoffman, Richard Dreyfuss, Paul Haggis, James Franco, Kevin Spacey, Casey . Affleck, Mel Gibson, Arthur Freed, Joan Crawford [and] Clark Gable," he wrote.
"If we're talking about taking back the Oscars, let's start with Roman Polanski," thought someone else. “So in that case Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Guillermo del Toro and Harvey Weinstein have their Oscars returned as well,” suggested one.
One user also noted, "The Academy spent decades ignoring rape by Harvey Weinstein before it was forced to remove it from its membership, and never took action against violence by Roman Polanski, who drugged and raped a 13-year-old or Mel Gibson, who continues to promote hatred."
The Academy issued its own statement regarding the incident and condemned the violence. "The Academy does not condone violence of any kind," the show tweeted early Monday. "Tonight we're delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and film buffs around the world."
