All private and government banks will remain closed for 13 days in the remaining days of the third month of the year i.e. March 2022.
As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, public sector, private sector, foreign banks, co-operative banks and regional banks in India will have to remain closed on specified dates. RBI declared holidays for lenders under these categories - Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays, real time gross settlement holidays, and closure of accounts of banks.
Bank holidays are different for each state. However, there are some days when banks are closed across India – Republic Day (26 January), Independence Day (15 August), Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), Christmas Day (25 December), among others.
