Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO) - One of the benefits of the Career and Technical Education Academy (CTE) is that students have the opportunity to network with potential employers.
It is a chance for students to learn about potential careers and what they need to do to get those jobs.
They may be in high school, but these students are already looking to their future careers.
“I have an idea of what I want to do, but career fairs like this help me get my foot in the door and have a better understanding of what a career is like. Some schools that require And maybe like some of the classes you took in high school so you don't have to spend all your time in college doing your pre-ricks,” said Emma Bui, Jr.
This career fair provides around 700 students with around 100 different booths to visit, giving them post-graduation options.
"I'm really looking for a career in automotive and there are a lot of these people that I could potentially do. But it's also a good way to get my footing in many places and meet a lot of people who are close to you. going to help you with the career as well,” said Nathan Hill, Sr.

For Chris Howman, who runs the electric company, this is an opportunity to network with students who may be interested in working for his company in the future. He's here to make sure they know how to get there.
“What we really want to do is if they have an interest in post-secondary education, we look at the Bild Dakota scholarship or summer internship, or if they really want to go into the workforce, we look at one of our mentorships program,” said Chris Haughman, president and CEO of Malloy Electric
To prepare students for whatever their career path may be.
"They really do a great job of grooming the students working with them on their soft skills, their resumes, and they're working with them on the eye engagement, the handshake, so for us to be able to pick it up." And it's very important to have a better discussion with them," said Haughman.
Their networking options include everything from construction, nursing, military, and more.
