The airline dress codes Olivia Culpo and others don’t know about

Gone are the days when people would get ready to fly by plane – but unbeknownst to many travelers, airlines still have some hope for complacency.

Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo learned that certain outfits are not allowed on passenger planes before boarding an American Airlines flight to Cabo on Thursday when she was asked to "cover up."

And she's far from the first person to break the largely unknown dress code rules of major airlines: TikTok creator Sierra Steadman was asked to get off an August Alaska Airlines flight for her apparently inappropriate attire. "I've never felt more humiliated," she captioned a clip from her account.

The following month, another woman claimed she was booted from an Alaska Airlines flight for what she looked like.

Here's everything we know about some of the vague, public rules that the major US airlines have about onboard dress requirements.

Post has contacted JetBlue, Delta, United and American Airlines for further comment.
