Atlanta Hawks trade Cam Reddish to New York Knicks for Kevin Knox, first-round pick

The New York Knicks forward Cam Radish in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks, the team announced Thursday night.

The Knicks sent Kevin Knox II and the 2022 first-round draft pick through the Charlotte Hornets to the Hawks for Reddish, Solomon Hill, and the 2025 second-round pick (via Brooklyn).

New York also forgave Ryan Archidiacono.

Reddish, the 10th pick in the 2019 draft, was a victim of the Hawks' roster of overpopulated talented young wing players. This ultimately left him without a contract extension role or route – and the Hawks preferred to take him ahead of the February 10 trade deadline.

The 22-year-old has averaged career-high points (11.9), field goal percentage (40%) and free throw percentage (90%) this season. He is shooting 38% on 3-pointers this season, up from 26% last season.

Radish also has two 30-point games to spare - something he didn't in his first two NBA seasons. Radish gives the Knicks a versatile youth wing to develop alongside the core of his talent, which also includes his former Duke teammate RJ Barrett.

Knox was the ninth pick in the 2018 draft, but he has been unable to gain traction in New York.

The first-round pick for the Hawks is a significant acquisition, giving General Manager Travis Schlenk an increased asset in his arsenal to use in trades as he actively seeks to improve a team that had a sluggish start to the Eastern Conference Finals. Comes after the journey. last season.

Charlotte's first-round pick is secured through the Top 18 in 2022, the Top 16 in 2023 and 2024 and the Top 14 in 2025. This becomes two second-round picks if not made aware before 2026.
