Megan You're a male horse and more Grammy MODE MISSES

The Grammys red carpet was not the fashion parade I was looking for. Lots of mistakes happened. Maybe it's because the show moved their COVID postponement ceremony to Las Vegas this year? According to Page Six, "stylists [were] having meltdowns because there are no specialist tailors like LA, and they have to walk through smoky casinos embracing couture gowns and tuxedos that smell bad". The general consensus is that no one wanted to go to "that gross ass town," and when stars like Tiffany Haddish and Lil Nas X brought their fashion A-game, most left it in California.

Megan Thee Stallion with Animal Print on Animal Print... Went on Animal Print. What is already a leopard print – more appropriate for club-wear then a gown – is trimmed with a contrast print and then lined with zebra print. Plus, it's a silhouette we've seen of him a thousand times before. It wasn't a big night for her, but I still expected more.

H.E.R., who was the winner last night, arrived on the red carpet in a kaftan-with-pants ensemble and it looks really casual for the evening. Remember when the Grammys used to be the musical Oscars? This look is better suited for stage performances than anywhere else on the Vegas Strip.

Now, I know Lani loves a cape but this cape and gown co-ord on Chloe missed the mark. There's something about those metal pieces that feel cheap. And the string around his neck makes him feel like a superhero.

Take a look at her Instagram for a dress styled without a cape and in a better light. She would wear the best clothes if she was achieved on the red carpet.

Billie Eilish must be trolling us right now. Her Oscar outfit from last weekend was not well received and she decided to wear something similar for the Grammys. It feels a little more inspired, I'll give that to her, because it's replacing a trench coat as a dress. But she's once again committed to all black on her very fair skin (from her hair to those shin-high socks). The black background on the carpet doesn't help either. I like Billy's approach but I don't think she's found a way to translate that into fashion like I know she can.

Justin Bieber rode the oversized suit trend, which has been picking up steam lately, except that he chose almost comical proportions. I can't tell whether I love it or I hate it, but it definitely reminds me of that Kanye West music video.

And shout out to Justin's outfit change later in the night, when he went from oversize to snug for his "Peaches" performance, showing off his peaches in leather pants.
