Will Smith sparks war between producers over biopic, offered whopping $10M

Will Smith in talks with streaming services over turning memoir in to a movie

Will Smith is reportedly coming left and right with producers hoping to turn his memoir into a biopic.

The 53-year-old actor spoke about his life and struggles in a stellar book set in 2021 and streaming services are now competing with each other to strike a deal for it.

It has been speculated that the Oscar nominee will sign an "eight point" deal for the rights to the story of his life.

Multiple outlets believe that the actor will be paid at least $10 million for the partnership.

A source told The Sun, "When he signed his book deal, he did so with a biopic in mind.

“Now all the streaming services are struggling to get the rights. Bidding means he can order a larger amount, so he is weighing his options to see which one will handle his life story with the most care.

"The book was really successful because it told his inspirational, but at times really challenging, story.

“Given that it will be so personal, it is a sensitive thing for Will. He wants to make sure it is done the right way and not something that is rushed, regardless of money.”

In his book, Will talks about the traumas and stumbling blocks of his childhood in his marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith.
