U.S. Stock Futures Poised to Open Lower on Monday

US stocks are set to open sharply lower on Monday. On Sunday night, the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down nearly 300 points, or 0.1%, while the S&P 500 futures were down 1.2% and the Nasdaq Composite futures by 1.8%.

On Sunday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US was talking to its allies about a possible embargo on Russian oil imports, a sign that the situation had shifted from last week. The White House has been wary of any move that could push the price of oil further, and lead to higher gasoline prices for consumers.
