Abizarre "alien" like a sea creature drifting off the Australian coast has baffled the internet.
Alex Tan of Queensland, Australia, was on a morning walk on Maroochidor Beach on the Sunshine Coast, when he saw a strange creature.
In a video of the discovery, Tan says: "I've found something strange. It's one of those things you see when people claim they've found aliens."
Tan then turns the camera to show the creature lying on the shore. It appears to have human-like hands and a reptile-type skull and tail. It also has patches of black fur.
At first, when Tan saw the creature, he thought it was a dog lying down, he told Storyful. However, as soon as he took a closer look, he realized that it was something much stranger.
Photos of the creature began to circulate on the Internet, with many speculating as to what it could be.
On his Facebook page, Tan said: "The search for this 'little dude' is on and has gone international ... people need answers."
Tan, who has been doing radio interviews on the discovery, said experts differ in their suggestions. So far, some experts have claimed that it may have been a brushtail ossum, a wallaby or a tree kangaroo.
However, some social media users took it to be supernatural.
Tan posted a video on his Facebook page doing a radio interview detailing the discovery.
Describing the discovery, he says: "I was walking on the beach on my normal walk. I'm praying, I'm talking to Jesus, I look at this thing from afar and I'm thinking that what it is .... I came across it and it has a lot of weird features. It's gooey like a spongebob, and it was the color of a chicken nugget. I think it's something out of deuteronomy, it's a croissant Looks like."
In interviews, Tan stated that he personally believes it to be a constipated, however, others have suggested that it is a malnourished kangaroo.
Tan told news.com.au that he made the discovery after the recent floods in the area. Torrential storms have caused severe flooding over the past few weeks in Queensland and other areas around New South Wales. In some areas, high tides have carried debris from rivers and other water bodies to the shore.
"I'm excited to hear what it will be," he told news.com.au.
Australia is home to a variety of distinctive animals that cannot be found anywhere else. As Australia was isolated from the rest of the world for millions of years, scientists believe that its wildlife evolved in strange and unique ways.
