Peterborough 0-2 Manchester City: Jack Grealish scores first FA Cup goal in hardworking win

Manchester City advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 win over championship-fighting Peterborough United.

Riyad Mahrez put the Premier League champions ahead on goal with his first shot, almost an hour into the competition, before Jack Grealish scored his first FA Cup goal.

In what would have been a setback, Sammy Szmodics should have kept the home side ahead with the game, although City's quality would eventually prove to be too much.

City struggled to break through to second-tier lower club until Mahrez put them ahead on the hour and then doubled their lead with a key quality goal from Pep Guardiola.

Phil Foden hit a ball from deep which was brought down by Grealish with a brilliant touch before the clinical finish.

City's two goals at London Road take their tally in all competitions to 103 for the season. On Thursday, he will know who he will face in the quarter-finals.
