The 2022 Men's ACC Tournament began on Tuesday, but the Notre Dame basketball team was one of the best in the conference this year, having to drop out of the first two rounds. Now, they'll sit back and watch the second round, as the Virginia Tech Hokies take on the Clemson Tigers inside Barkley Center tonight.
For the Irish, it is a matchup of two teams played during the regular season, although they had much more success against Clemson. Virginia Tech was able to defeat the Irish at home on January 15, their only loss in an 11-game stretch.

The Irish went 22-9 during the regular season, which is incredible as they started the season with a 3-4 record. From that point on, the Irish went 19-5 ahead, beating big-time events in the process, including the Kentucky Wildcats in Blake Wesley's first start to his collegiate career.
Wesley would go on to become one of the best freshmen in the country, earning Second Team All-ACC honors as a true freshman. Had it not been for the Duke's Paolo Banchero, he would have been the convention's Rookie of the Year.
