Lollapalooza has announced its lineup for the summer of 2022 at Grant Park. Headliners for this summer's music festival in Chicago include Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, Green Day, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby and Kygo.
Lollapalooza returns in full force this year, according to an announcement from the festival on Tuesday, with more than 170 performances for eight stages in Chicago's Lakefront Park over the last weekend of July. Also part of the mix is food from some 35 chefs and restaurants that include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Plus Kidzapalooza is back this summer, with free admission for kids 10 and under.

Chicago artists include 100 gecs, John Summitt, Beach Bunny, Horsegirl and Jackie Hayes. New acts include Remy Wolf, Fletcher, Zach Bryan, The Pinkpantheres, Muna, Goth Babe, Role Model, Wet Leg, Gracie Abrams, Pierre Bourne, Gleve and Maude Latour.
Four-day tickets go on sale Tuesday at noon CT, ranging in price from $350 to $4,200. Single-day passes go on sale at a later date.
Lola was one of the first big concerts and was underway in Chicago last summer, scrambling at times to meet vaccine and mask requirements that were changing for the city and state, while the 2021 festivities was in session. Lollapalooza is presented by C3 Presents, a division of Live Nation, based in Austin, Texas.
In the announcement, the festival also stated that it will introduce NFTs (Fungible Tokens) that fans can buy; Follow the Lollapalooza Metaverse Twitter account @LollaFrens.
C3 Presents, also involved in the new Suenos Music Festival, separately announced the first ever Music Festival Career Fair, a Chicago-based recruitment event aimed at those hoping to get into the music industry. Kennedy-King College will host the event on April 2 at 10 a.m. The free program will be open to the public and designed for students enrolled in the City Colleges of Chicago. The lineup includes a recruitment fair featuring Lollapalooza and Suenos vendors, panel discussions, industry-focused workshops, and a keynote lecture from music artist Rhymefest.
