Landeskog out indefinitely for Avalanche with knee injury

Forward will have surgery, leads Colorado with 30 goals

Gabriel Landeskog will be ruled out for Colorado Avalanche due to knee injury

The forward will have surgery on Monday and there is no deadline for his return, coach Jared Bednar said on Saturday.

According to The Athletic, Bednar said, "Hopefully he'll be available to us for the stretch line, but he's going to miss some time." "It's something going on with his knee that's been bothering him for a while. It was getting worse."

Landeskog has scored 59 points (30 goals, 29 assists) in 52 matches this season. He played 18:42 and scored seven shots on goal in a 2-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.

The Avalanche captain leads them into the goal and is fifth on points.

Colorado (41-13-5), first in the NHL standings, hosts the Calgary Flames on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; SN1, SNE, SNO, SNW, ALT, ESPN+, NHL LIVE).
