why can kings cover
De'Aaron Fox averages a team-best 22.5 points this season and has scored at least 20 points in each of his last 12 matches. The 24-year-old point guard had his most productive effort of the season on Saturday as he matched his career-high score of 44 points. Fox has led the Kings in scoring eight goals in his last 11 appearances.
Domantas Sabonis has been a strong contributor since he was acquired from Indiana last month, recording double-doubles in nine of his 10 runs. The 25-year-old power forward is one of the best in the league across the board as he averages 12.2 rebounds in third place. Shooting guard Donnett DiVincenzo is scoring just 7.7 points per game this season, but has scored double points in three of his last four matches.
Why the Knicks Can Cover
New York have won only three of their last 17 matches, but one of those wins came at home against Sacramento on January 31. Of the six players who scored in double digits for the Knicks in the 116-96 win, three came off the bench, including Alec Burks. The 30-year-old shooting guard was 6-for-9 off the floor and 4-for-6 en route to a game-high 21 points.
RJ Barrett, who averaged 19 points this season, only recorded 11 in that competition, but has since produced at least 20 in eight of the nine competitions. The 21-year-old shooting guard posted a team-high 24 points on Sunday as New York improved 1-2 on their seven-game road trip. Emmanuel Quickley was one of five other Knicks to reach double digits against the Clippers as he came off the bench to score 21 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
