Green Day and other acts cancel Russian concerts

Ever since the Russian military invaded Ukraine, many people have come together to protest the action.

This includes artists who were supposed to perform in Russia.

Following is a list of musicians who have canceled their shows:

Green day

The punk-infused rock band was scheduled to play at Moscow's Spartak Stadium in May as part of their Hella Mega Tour.

On Sunday, the band announced on its verified Instagram account that it was canceling.

"We know this moment is not about the Stadium Rock show, it's much bigger than that," their posted statement read. "But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we believe there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Stay safe."

Ajr

Indie pop trio AJR tweeted on February 25 that they were canceling a show in Moscow due for October, along with a few words of wisdom regarding misinformation.

"We are sad to announce that we will be canceling our upcoming show in Russia," the group made up of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met tweeted. "Thank you to our Russian fans who oppose the unprovoked and criminal behavior of their country. Our hearts are with the people of Ukraine. At this time, the best thing you can do is to share accurate information."

Louis Tomlinson

The former One Direction member had planned shows in both Moscow and Kyiv's Stereo Plaza in Ukraine in July as part of their 2022 world tour.

On Monday, he tweeted that there would be no concerts.

"Due to recent events in Ukraine, I am saddened that my tour schedules in Moscow and Kyiv have been canceled until further notice," his note posted on Twitter. "The safety of my fans is my priority and my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and all who are suffering from this unnecessary war."

Health

Rock band Health announced on Monday that it would not be performing two of its scheduled concerts in Russia.

"While we do not wish to penalize our fans for government decisions that are beyond their control, given the current situation we will no longer be performing our previously scheduled shows in St. Petersburg and Moscow," one shared on Instagram. The statement read. "Our thoughts are for the people of Ukraine."

Youngblood

The British artist said in a statement on Monday that he would not perform in Russia this summer.

"I am sad to announce that I will be canceling my Russian show this summer," the statement read. "Heartbroken as I know that the brutal and brutal acts of the Russian regime in Ukraine over the past week do not reflect the attitudes and ideals of the beautiful people I have met in Russia in the past!"

To the Ukrainians, he wrote, "My heart is with you - you have already shown such strength and determination, resisting this unnecessary invasion."

"Everyone deserves to be the maker of his own destiny, rather than being forced by acts of war and aggression," he wrote. "Ukraine, I promise that I will be back as soon as possible!"
