Baton Rouge, La. (BRPROUD) — Food, music and fans — tailgating is back for LSU Baseball. Fans say that it has been a long time since this moment.
"Sincerely nothing but excitement," said LSU junior Brandon Barriente.
"I was out here at eight in the morning," said LSU senior beau Dupacuteur.
DuPaquter said he is excited to regain his tailgate spot outside Alex Box Stadium after the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.
“Finally it feels like it is getting back to normal. You can really feel that being able to come out of the tailgate here and there and be together and be safe,” he said.
Despite the cold, dozens of tents were put up around the stadium. A group of women said that they are bringing back the tradition of years.
"We sit here because that's where the opposing team's bus comes from and when they come, we throw roux-ga-roux on them," said Roux-ga-Roux Crewe.
Fans say that the new coach and players of the team bring even more excitement in this season.
"With the new hires and Jay Johnson and the people he's bringing back and the transfers he's brought in, there's nothing but excitement," Barriente said.
