Shane Lowry drew a 67 in the second round to go three-under at the Honda Classic, but the halfway leader is Daniel Berger who sits at the top of the standings at 10-under par after a second consecutive 65.
Lowry, who opened with 70, picked up two birdies on the front nine and matched the feat on the back nine, with a par-3 15th-place single bogey after finding the bunker from the tee.
Offley Man is tied for eighth and seven shots from the lead, while Padraig Harrington will play no further part in the Florida tournament after coming to an early end to his first appearance of the year on the PGA Tour.
The three-time dominant winner's round of 70 ended them in the par with three overs.
Berger admitted to hitting "a lot of quality shots" for the second day in a row at a five-under 65 card.
He is three ahead of compatriots Chris Kirk and Kurt Kitayama who scored 68 and 69 points respectively.
Mark Hubbard and Canada's Adam Svensson are a shot back at six under.
Berger was pleased that he was facing the challenge the course presented to him.
"I hit a lot of quality shots, even if they weren't five feet from the hole or ten feet from the hole," he said. "I know they're so tough, that hitting it 20 feet is a good shot.
"And the challenge for this golf course is that the pins are tucked in, the greens are firm, the wind is blowing, so you really have to be at the point where you're going to miss."
