Kemba Walker's homecoming in the New York Knicks has been bad for everyone. The Bronx kid has struggled hard this season and has agreed to live apart for the rest of the season. It was his decision and the team supported it. His production is very low and his time in his home town may increase.
Since the Knicks did not trade Walker or buy him out of their contract, questions arose as to why the team chose the course. According to SNY's Ian Begley, New York wants to trade Walker this off-season, where his business value will be more solid.
Walker will be at the end of a $9 million contract later this season. Since this is a relatively low deal and the Walker is known to be a great companion, it should be an easily walkable deal. With limited minutes off the bench, a walker can be a good option on a team with solid depth. Nevertheless, his days as a vital contributor to any team seem to be coming to an end.
The Knicks and Walkers aren't entirely outsiders. Their relationship seems to be a respectable one, even if they have done poorly this season. Knicks president Leon Rose said Walker's long-term success is a priority.
