Australia's Jordan Thompson destroyed his racket in desperation after losing in straight sets to world number 25 Reilly Opelka in the second round of the Sydney Tennis Classic.
Thompson posted an impressive 6-4 6-2 win over Marcos Giron on Monday, but he couldn't repeat the dose in Wednesday's 6-3 6-2 loss against Opelka.
The Australian world No. 73 struggled to find his rhythm throughout the match, and emotions got the better of him when he sent a backhand wide in the second set to break Opelka.
Thompson slammed the court in despair before picking it up and knocking it down twice to completely destroy his racket.
Thompson won just two more games to match, the blast failing to bring him to life.
The 27-year-old had just one break point for the entire competition - a break point he failed to convert.
In contrast, Opelka converted three of their six break-point opportunities.
Opelka will face world number 68 American Brandon Nakashima in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
