Strikers choose to bat against Heat in BBL

Last-placed Adelaide have won the toss and elected to bat against Brisbane in a Big Bash League game at the Gabba on Wednesday, with the Heat welcoming several players from COVID isolation.

Superstar Chris Lynn leads the returning players for the hosts and will captain the heats in the current absence of Jimmy Pearson along with Xavier Bartlett, Ben Duckett, Liam Guthrie, Matthew Kuhneman and Nathan McSweeney.

Local replacement players Lachey Pfeiffer and Jake Lehmann have retained their places in the team after losing to Hobart last Saturday.

Adelaide is without former Test batsman Matt Renshaw, who is in isolation under COVID protocol, and has lost seven of its last eight matches in Wednesday's match.

Brisbane are fifth with three wins from 10 matches.

Conditions are clear in Brisbane and the match is scheduled to start at 6.15 PM AEST.
