‘SNL’ preview with Ariana DeBose

It's a big week for actress Ariana DeBos, she received some awards season love for her work in "West Side Story," and this weekend, DeBoss debuts with a new 2022 show called "Saturday Night Live." are hosting.

Ariana Debos has already worked in a remake of a movie classic, this week, she gets a chance to take on a TV classic.

"I don't have good words for this, because who thinks they'll wake up and host SNL one day?" Debos asked rhetorically. "Not this girl."

But this girl is now an "It" girl in Hollywood, receiving a Screen Actors Guild nomination earlier this week for her performance as Anita in "West Side Story."

"I'm thrilled that people are loving it and hearing its message because I think it's really, really valid and important and is a time we're living in," DeBoss said.

The Broadway veteran recently showcased his talent in the Apple TV Plus comedy "Schmigadoon," but tackling live comedy is a tall order.

"I love these guys, they're so talented," DeBoss said, "I'm like, I feel a little out of my league, but in a good way," DeBoss said. "It makes me want to be better."

And so far, DeBoss seems to be fitting in.

"I know by the time those cameras are on and we're actually alive, I'll be tired," DeBoss said. "But really excited about it."

The show's musical guests are the bleachers. The group is pinching as originally announced musical guest Roddy Rich had to split due to a COVID risk.
