Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith was argumentative and threatening during his arrest Monday, Washington State Patrol officials said.
According to police documents obtained by TMZ Sports, police wrote that they pulled over Smith because he was driving over the speed limit at 36 mph. He also alleged that he was driving erratically and failed to signal before changing lanes.
One officer wrote that Smith said he became agitated after exiting his vehicle and began conducting field sobriety tests. Officers wrote that they halted the trial and took Smith into custody, where he refused to take a breath and became enraged when police attempted to draw blood, saying "I am one of you." Will fk everyone."
Per TMZ, officials wrote that Smith threatened them:
"Another officer said that Smith told him, 'You don't want to see me off these cuffs, you don't want to know what will happen.'
"Officers say they had to restrain their arms and legs in order to eventually take Smith's blood ... and claim that Smith said the whole time, 'We will regret it and we will all be famous for it.' ,
Smith addressed the arrest on social media Monday night:
Smith was pulled over Monday at 2:10 p.m. PT in King County. On Sunday, the Seahawks closed the NFL regular season with a 38-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals and returned to Washington late Sunday.
Being arrested brings a taint onto the reputation that is impossible to undo, no matter what really happened.

The 31-year-old, who told officers that he had drunk some alcohol at least 90 minutes before driving, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
According to the Associated Press, the Seahawks' team safety director was also on hand as officers attempted to draw Smith's blood to test his blood-alcohol level. He needed to be restrained before taking his blood.
Smith was later released from prison on bail at 9:27 a.m. Monday, according to Greg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told Bell that Smith was at the team meeting on Monday.
The veteran passer made four appearances and started three games for Seattle in 2021 in place of Russell Wilson. He threw 702 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.
Smith is set to become a free agent this off-season.
