Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund - who share 1-year-old son Rhodes - have officially split.
The couple broke up a few weeks ago after a rocky few months in their relationship, sources confirmed to PEOPLE.
"It's sad, and they're doing their best to co-parent. It's been tough," an insider told the publication.
The news came three weeks after the couple celebrated baby Rhodes' first birthday, with Roberts taking to Instagram to celebrate the day.
"Happy Birthday Rodeo!" She captioned a small gallery of photos from the celebration of the baby. "Frosting in my hair and @thebeatbuds stuck in my head. Liked every second of it ️ I love you rhodes ️.
"I can't believe you're #1," the "Holiday" actress added in another photo of her wearing cowboy costumes for the theme-party.
Roberts, 30, and Hedlund, 37, have been linked as a couple since March 2019, when they were seen holding hands in Los Angeles. The pair announced the "Scream Queens" star's pregnancy in August 2020, before welcoming baby Rhodes December 2020.
Roberts captioned her first Instagram snap of the newborn, "Thank you for getting one thing right 2020 our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund."
In addition to the split, Hedlund is currently being prosecuted for negligence, allegedly due to a head-on collision caused by nodding at the wheel.
Documents received in court by E! News, Hedlund allegedly "passed behind the wheel of his vehicle and ran a solid red light at high speed," forcing him to crash into Marina Venegas and her daughter, Jennifer Castillo.
Venegas and Castillo claim that Hedlund "knew he was seriously intoxicated before getting behind the wheel of his jeep."
The mother-daughter duo continued, "Hedlund had red, bloodshot, and watery eyes, with extremely sharp speech and coordination, and she was so intoxicated that she was unresponsive to police and witnesses; Hedlund was so intoxicated that he was unable to walk and was forced to sit in a jeep; and Hedlund had drunk a few minutes before the accident."
Hedlund was arrested in February 2020 on two DUI charges. He was arrested that same month and released after posting a $100,000 bond.
The "Triple Frontier" actor was sentenced to 36 months' probation and three days of community service to one count. According to court records, he was also required to attend and complete a nine-month first-offender alcohol and other drug education and counseling program.
The second charge was dismissed.
