Detroit Pistons void deal with Denver Nuggets for Bol Bol after failed physical

The deal between the Denver Nuggets and the Detroit Pistons involving Boll was canceled after Boll did not pass his physical with the Pistons.

In the deal, Detroit sent Rodney McGruder and his 2022 second-round pick to Denver to speak via the Brooklyn Nets.

Bol, 22, has shown glimmers of promise with Denver, but never gained traction in a deep and talented Nuggets frontcourt. Detroit will likely give Bol an opportunity to receive more consistent minutes as it continues to gather young talent as part of its rebuilding.

Bol will be a banned free agent this summer.

The 7-foot-2 bowl was considered a top-10 draft prospect prior to the 2018–19 season at Oregon, but dropped to 44th overall on draft night in 2019 and only 5.8 in 14 games for Denver this season. Minutes averaged. Bol has shown glimpses of offensive prowess in his time with the Nuggets.

Bol, a popular 7-7 center, is the son of the late Manute Bol, who played for a decade in the NBA.
