1. Alabama
I charge a premium on returning quarterbacks. Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young will be in for another season, so if Jameson Williams doesn't opt out of the 2022 NFL Draft (and has fully recovered from the injury he suffered on Monday night), the best QB-WR pair in the game is at Tuscaloosa. Will be ,
2. Ohio State
The Buckeyes return three dynamic players to the offense: QB CJ Stroud, wide receiver Jackson Smith-Njigba and Travian Henderson running back.
2021 saw three of the eight highest PFF grades by WRs since 2016:

Ryan Day has tapped former Oklahoma state assistant Jim Knowles to revive the Buckeyes' defense. If Knowles gets his act together, Ohio State will be the favorite to win the national title in January 2023.
3. Texas A&M
Alabama held the record for the highest score in recruiting ranking history with its other 2021 class. This year all A&Ms broke it was.
If Max Johnson or Haynes King excel in QB, the Aggies can be great. But they have not won a conference title since 1998 and a national title since 1939.
4. Georgia
UGA is a top five team on talent alone. If Kirby Smart appointed a defensive coordinator, the Dogs could score another run on CFP.
5. Michigan
This is only true if Jim Harbaugh is the head coach at the start of the 2022 season. He is rumored to be considering a return to the NFL.
6. Arkansas
Sam Pittman held two in-demand coordinators and quarterback KJ Jefferson. Hogs' continuation will pay off in 2022.
7. Baylor
No one has enjoyed a more gratifying change than Baylor's coach, Dave Aranda. In 2020, the Bears won only two games. In 2021, he won 12 more sugar bowls.
Aranda returns both coordinators and potential breakout star in quarterback Blake Sheppen, who led the Bears to victory in the Big 12 Championship Game.
A school-record 1⃣2⃣ wins‼️

8. Notre Dame
Raising Marcus Freeman as head coach and keeping offensive coordinator Tommy Rees will pay dividends for Fighting Irish, who will still be looking for a national title after losing in the draft to All-American defensive back Kyle Hamilton.
In fact, ND has already earned a commitment from Hamilton's potential replacement: former Northwestern All-American DB Brandon Joseph.

9. Utah
Kyle Whittingham and the Utes are consistently appreciated outside of Salt Lake City.
10. Michigan State
Kenneth Walker III's loss to the NFL will be felt, but the addition of former Wisconsin tailback Jalen Berger means Mel Tucker will have a new Bell Guy.
11. Ole Miss
Len Kiffin added a former five-star running back Zack Evans from Texas Christian, but defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, offensive coordinator Jeff Laby and quarterback Matt Coral. Kiffin figures and continues to produce a high-powered offense to find a suitable replacement for Coral.

12. Clemson
Death, Tax and Dabo Swinney win 10 games each season.
13. Cincinnati
Luke Fickel will have to do his best coaching job since taking over at Cincinnati if he hopes to fight for the AAC title in 2022. They lost All-American defensive back Ahmed Gardner, driving Jerome Ford and quarterback Desmond Ridder back into the draft and offensive. LSU coordinator Mike Denbrock.
If anyone can do it, it's fickle. In 2021, he lost to Notre Dame, former Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman. They responded with an undefeated regular season, earning distinction as the first Group of 5 program to receive invitations to the college football playoffs.

14. Wake Forest
Demon Deacons coach Dave Clausen returns QB Sam Hartman and a group of talented upperclassmen.
15. Houston
Dana Holgorsen has been developing the Cougars into a potential big 12 power for at least a year before the move.
16. Oklahoma State
Mike Gundy has the institutional support that other coaches can only dream of, and he has made a living developing lesser-known coaches, such as the new Ohio State defensive coordinator Knowles and Penn State offensive coordinator Mike Yurich.
These teams get W's season after season 🙌

17. BUU
The Cougars could play for the Pac-12 Championship if they were only a member in 2021. After two consecutive seasons of winning 10 or more games, BYU is putting itself into national title talks.
18. Iowa
Most years, hockey looks like a team that lacks an elite star, and most years they make up for it.
19. Oregon
Oregon responded to the loss of Mario Cristóbal by hiring a coordinator who coached the national title game. There's no doubt that Dan Lanning will have the Ducks for the Pac-12 North title.
20. Coastal Carolina
CCU coaches Jamie Chadwell and the Chantses have earned the benefit of every doubt after winning 11 games in back-to-back seasons. Chadwell returned quarterback Grayson McCall, who quietly set an NCAA single-season passing efficiency rating record in 2021 (207.6).

21. Kentucky
Mark Stoops is building towards competing with Georgia for the SEC East, and his mix of physicality on offense and stifling defense could eventually get the Wildcats there.
22. Purdue
Jeff Brom has quarterback, as former walk-on Aidan O'Connell, who threw more than 500 yards at the Music City Bowl, will return in 2022. Now, if Brom finds a replacement for NFL-bound wideout David Bell, the boilermakers can start fast in 2022 and finish as strong as 2021.
23. Oklahoma
After years of running the score, Oklahoma hired Brent Venables to stop opponents from scoring. With Laby as the new offensive coordinator, Sooners fans hope his team can lead the country in scoring margins.

24. Texas
Steve Sarkeesian responded to a 5-7 debut season by landing the No. 1 player in the 2022 transfer portal, former Ohio State QB Quinn Ivers.
25. USC
Lincoln Riley had the biggest bang in college football when he left Norman, Oklahoma for Los Angeles and the Coliseum. Riley has built one of the best reputations in the sport for developing quarterbacks, scoring points and winning games.
USC QB Jaxson Dart entered the transfer portal.

Oklahoma QB Caleb Williams was in LA yesterday.
With five assistants working for Riley in Oklahoma and a 2022 recruiting class climbing the rankings, USC must challenge Utah for the Pac-12 South crown.
