Cagliari survival boosted by comeback win

Cagliari substitute Gaston Pereiro made a stoppage-time winner in a 2-1 loss to Bologna as the relegation-threatened hosts again came from behind to win Serie A.

Riccardo Orsolini's second half opener for Bologna was canceled by Leonardo Pavoletti.

It was the second match in a row that Cagliari came down with a goal and won 2–1, having done the same at Sampdoria last week.

Cagliari moved within one point of safety, although he has played more matches than 17th-placed Venezia.

Bologna finished 12th.

Both sides had different goals and it was an energetic match from the start in Sardinia.

Cagliari almost took the lead in the 14th minute but Raul Bellanova's angled effort went off the base of the right post.

Bologna took the lead early in the second half when Orsolini fired a free kick into the top corner.

Cagliari finished 71st.

A throw-in was cleared only halfway and Pereiro crossed it back and volleyed into the equalizer for Pavoletti.

Bologna regained the lead almost immediately but home goalkeeper Alessio Cragno did well to block Orsolini's attempt from the left post.

Instead it was Cagliari who scored the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time when Pereiro ran on a throw-ball from Joo Pedro and fired into the bottom corner.
