ICMI: Watch unbelievable Rory Mcllroy birdie on the 18th at the Masters.

They recorded birdies in first, third, seventh, eighth and tenth place, followed by a late 13th-placed eagle on the leaderboard.

The Hollywood native ended the day at -7-under,

But with world number one Scotty Scheffler having a four-put lap on the 18th, McIlroy's late bounce on the final day was not enough to catch the eventual winner Scheffler.

The shot that caused the most noise from the watching patrons though was McIlroy's 18th when he hid a bunker shot for a birdie to send the patrons wild.

The 32-year-old gave a big cheer and mentioned that he was the happiest ever on the golf course."

Scheffler's talent has earned McIlroy a Grand Slam opportunity, but he says his final round will give him the confidence to move on.


McIlroy claimed, "I've never heard a roar like this on the 18th green, it was really cool. It was like the third shot I hid on the green today. Sky Sports

"I don't think I've ever been as happy with this tournament as I am today. I've played a really good round of golf, and it's my best performance ever at Augusta.

"It's not enough, but I will definitely look back on this day with great memories. It gives me the confidence to move on not only to the next Masters next year but to the rest of the season as well."

McIlroy's second lowest 18-hole score, only 63 during the first round of the 2010 Open at St Andrews.

This eclipsed his previous lowest score in Augusta of 65, achieved in 2011 and 2018, as well as his previous best score of fourth in 2015.
