Govt congratulated Simon O'Neill in a big victory at the Grammy Awards

“Back home in Aotearoa New Zealand we are absolutely delighted for Simon and his grand success at the Grammy Awards,” Arts, Culture and Heritage Minister Carmel Sepuloni said.


Government congratulates New Zealand tenor Simon O'Neill on his double nomination and a big Grammy win for Best Choral Performance for his performance as Doc Marianus in Mahler's Symphony No. 8 for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Simon and his resounding success at the Grammy Awards when we return home to Aotearoa New Zealand,” said Carmel Sepuloni, Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage.

Carmel Sepuloni said, "Simon's double nomination, topped with a major win, is a bright reflection of the talent that exists among New Zealand's immensely talented opera artists."
