Cryptic Post Brian Houston After Hillsong Fall

The globe-trotting former pastor has taken to social media to share a cryptic post on Instagram after resigning from Hillsong over complaints from two women.

Hillsong co-founder Brian Houston has shared a cryptic post leaving the church he made famous after complaints from two women about his behavior.

Since resigning as the mega-church's global pastor last month, Houston has remained silent on social media where he has more than a million followers.

But on Wednesday, he shared a photo of himself and his daughter on Instagram.

"My beautiful daughter loves her dad," he captioned the post, with comments disabled.

The photo was then shared by his daughter Laura Toggs, who remains a youth pastor with Hillsong, titled "Tomorrow with my dad".

The start of 2022 has been a tumultuous one for Houston and Hillsong.

His shocking resignation from the church was delivered last month at an emergency all-staff meeting at the mega-church's head office in Boulkham Hills, Sydney.

"Despite the circumstances surrounding this, we can all agree that Brian and (wife) Bobby have served God faithfully for many decades," the church wrote in a statement.

The Board of the Church is committed to an independent review of their governance structures and procedures.

"It is a time of humble reflection and we are committed to making sure that God is honored, and our eyes are fixed on Jesus."

Pastor Phil Dooley, who took over as head of the evangelical church after Houston stepped down earlier this year, details two incidents investigated by senior church staff.

The first alleged incident involved a female church member who resigned nearly a decade ago after complaining about an "inappropriate" text message.

Pastor Dooley said at the meeting, "It was along the line 'If I were with you, I'd like to kiss and hug you'."

The woman quit her job after complaining to Hillsong's general manager George Aghajanian about the incident, with Mr. Houston reporting that the woman had been paid several months' salary for the incident.

The second incident reportedly took place in a Sydney hotel during the church's annual convention at Kudos Bank Arena in Homebush in 2019.

The senior pastor locked himself after he claimed to have been inside a woman's room for 40 minutes.

The woman was not a member of the Hillsong staff, but she did report the incident to the church.

"The truth is we don't know what happened next," Pastor Dooley said, although Mr Houston denies that he was involved in any sexual activity.

On both occasions of alleged misconduct, the church reported that senior pastors were either under the influence of alcohol or sleeping pills.

Mr Houston is currently defending allegations that he hid his father's child sexual abuse.

As a result in January he resigned from his senior position in the church.

Police allege that Mr Houston knew since September 1999 that his father, Frank Houston, had sexually assaulted a man in 1970.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges of concealment of a serious prosecutable offense and is due to appear in court in November.
