Atlas Moroccan Lions in Pot 3 for Draw World Cups

Morocco’s national team's position as the 24th best team worldwide has brought it into the third pot for the World Cup final draw.

With the group-stage draw for the 2022 World Cup, Morocco's Atlas Lions placed third.

FIFA has announced the procedures for the final draw for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, with the 32 qualifying teams divided into four different pots based on the latest FIFA world rankings.

Because the Moroccan football team has retained its position as the 24th best team worldwide in the latest FIFA rankings, it is ranked third along with Senegal, Iran, Japan, Serbia, Poland, South Korea and Tunisia.

The first pot consists of hosts Qatar along with Belgium, Brazil, France, Argentina, England, Spain and Portugal.

The second pot is made up of Denmark, the Netherlands, Mexico, Germany, Uruguay, Switzerland, the United States and Croatia.

The fourth group includes Cameroon, Canada, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Wales or Scotland/Ukraine, Costa Rica or New Zealand, and Peru, Australia or the United Arab Emirates.

The final list of the fourth pot has yet to be determined as the winners of the three World Cup playoffs have not been decided.

According to FIFA draw rules, a team from each of the four groups will participate in each of the eight groups.

The final draw is scheduled for April 1 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha, Qatar.

Morocco's Atlas Lions went on a long and tiring journey to secure their ticket to football's most prestigious competition.

The national team made an impressive participation in the World Cup qualifiers, setting an honorary record.

Earlier this week, Morocco's Atlas Lions sealed their ticket for the 2022 World Cup after beating the Democratic Republic of the Congo 4-1 in the second leg of the FIFA World Cup playoffs.

With this deserved victory, the national football team brought back hope to Moroccan fans after a disappointing exit at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
