Wendi McLendon-Covey Breaks Her Silence on Jeff Garlin's Exit from 'The Goldbergs'

Wendy McLendon-Covey is finally addressing the firing of Jeff Garlin from The Goldbergs.

Back in December, Jeff — who played Murray on the ABC sitcom — was fired from the show after multiple complaints about his behavior on set resulted in an HR investigation.

On Tuesday (March 15), Wendy — who plays Beverly on The Goldbergs — finally broke her silence on Jeff's exit.

Journalist Joel Murray tweeted a clip from the show, writing, "They should either cancel The Goldbergs or kill off the character of Jeff Garlin because the workaround they're using this season isn't working." Is."

After the tweet caught wind, Wendy decided to respond.

"This season threw us for a loop because a.) It's hard to contain someone who doesn't want to be there and leave mid-scene. "And b.) We weren't going to rewrite the second half of the season. We're doing our best."

The Goldbergs — which first premiered in 2013 — is currently in its ninth season, continuing with his character on the show, having had to deal with the exit of Jeff. The show has superimposed his face in some scenes using a body double.

Before his firing, Jeff reportedly slammed The Goldbergs during one of his comedy shows.
