Upload Season 2 Premiere Recap: 'Goodbye, Angel' — Plus, Grade It!

What do you do when your ghost lover ghosts you? In the Season 2 premiere of Uploaded, Nora still hasn't heard from Nathan, and the ghost goes both ways, as Nathan also unintentionally gets the cold shoulder from Nora during the episode.

The half-hour begins with Nora hoping to leave Byron and accompany her father in another car, which drives her to the Ludd camp to keep her safe from those linked to Nathan's death. Followers of the movement reject the technology - Nora digs her phone on a tree branch in the woods - and eats real food grown in the ground from heirloom seeds. But not everything about the back-to-basics group is charming: Nora isn't a fan of Pastor Robb's "patriarchal backward creep show." Community leader Matteo (Royal Pains' Paulo Costanzo) assures her that not everyone is like Pastor Robb, who hates the all-digital afterlife. Nora settles into her new home and just a few weeks later, she is accompanied by Matteo giving a welcome speech on new hobbies and growing food.

Meanwhile, Nathan is finally released from the 2 gig that Ingrid has to redecorate her suit (her bed is "the width of a king, but the length of a queen," she explains) and sends her messenger. calls. Alisha appears and reveals that Nora has been MIA for weeks, leaving Alisha to hook up with two sets of clients as well as "an extremely difficult Karen," aka Ingrid. (The upside of being a high priority customer? Alisha gets promoted to junior manager and her own temp.)

After being cornered by Luke, who is seriously missing his BFF, Nathan runs to Switzer Bath to locate Nora's phone and hacks into her Knightley account in hopes of finding it. He spends hours every day searching, telling Ingrid that he is going to the gym.

Back at Ludd camp, Matteo and Nora share a sweet moment over a giant potato, and he asks if he's alone in feeling anything. Nora's answer is no, but some kind of back home. While she's at the post office, dropping off old-fashioned mail ("It's an envelope. That's how your ancestors got spam," one of the luds explains to Nobbs), Nora of an avatar to check on Nathan. Decided to use, which is Ingrid returned from his "Schwitz".

Ingrid admits that her uploading was impulsive and controlling. She then asks Nathan if he has fallen in love with another upload. He admits he had feelings for someone, but it's over. Ingrid isn't completely surprised by his confession. “You are great. A lot of people are going to love you. Just not as much as me,” she says earnestly, promising that she can change and earn her love back. As Nora's virtual cat avatar In it, Nathan kisses her and the scene cuts to revealing that... Ingrid is in a hug suit, not dead!

Distraught Nora returns to Ludd camp and invites Matteo over for a drink, while Nathan wakes up from his and Ingrid's bed to leave a voicemail to Nora. He tells her that he loves her too, and that he doesn't deserve anyone like her. Since she isn't answering his calls, she has to admit that she doesn't want to talk to him. "Goodbye, Angel," he concluded as Nora has a phantom phone ping.

As for the murder mystery, a detective from the NYC Cybercrime Unit has been investigating an elevator death since last season, and suspects it to be a possible murder.
