PICKENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) - Several homes were damaged and some minor injuries were reported after a severe storm Wednesday evening in Pickens County.
The tornado warning was in effect as the storm progressed.
According to Pickens County Emergency Management, the calls started coming in around 9:30 pm. A house on Lost Valley Road near Crystal Lane possibly related to fallen trees, trees on houses and people being trapped.
Damage from the storm was also reported on Rees Mill Road.
Emergency management said about a dozen houses were damaged and five to six houses suffered major damage. Officials said two mobile homes were overturned.
Most of the affected families will stay with the family in the area. The Red Cross will help shelter a family for the night.
The search team conducted a secondary search, but emergency management was confident that everyone would be accounted for.
According to emergency management, minor injuries were reported and all were treated on the spot.
7NEWS employees present at the scene said power lines were down.
The National Weather Service said they would conduct storm surveys on Thursday to confirm if any tornadoes touched down.
Earlier in the evening, a viewer at 7News captured video of a funnel cloud in Abbeville County.
